The challenge: cuisine on a grand scale
The 'Design Outlet Center' in Parndorf has a high footfall. It was our aim to find a spatial solution which provides room for the stream of visitors and also permits optimal working conditions.

Ralf Kürbitz: 'We aimed to create a space in which visitors can pause for a moment, despite all the movement.'

The design: self-service, 17 metres long
With a dramatic gesture, cocos Parndorf invites you to take a seat. Anyone entering the Asian bistro is immediately attracted to the 17 metres-long counter which forms the heart of the restaurant in the shape of an orangey-red meander. The visitor in a hurry can help himself to exactly what he wants at the buffet, whilst the aficionado can take a look at what is going on in the kitchen – screened off by a glass wall.
If you have created your own menu, you will have time to sit peacefully and enjoy your meal. Guests can turn their backs on the kitchen glowing like a flame in the middle of the restaurant and seat themselves in the dark green tones of the seating area, in order to enjoy their well-earned meal.
The bold curve of the counter finds a mellow echo here. White, undulating patterns break up the lush green colour of the walls, again finding an echo on the ceiling in the three-dimensional form of curved panels, which repeat the meandering shape of the counter.
